Steve Smith is a country boy at heart, having grown up in Mexia. After spending two decades in the Temple/Killeen area, he is thrilled to return to his North Texas roots. A Desert Storm veteran and a Stage 4 throat cancer survivor, Steve has a heart for others going through hard seasons of life. In Harker Heights, Steve founded his financial office and sees it as an opportunity to build hope and opportunity for the often-overlooked middle-class families that form the backbone of this great country.

In 2009, Steve married the love of his life, Sharon, who pastors at First Methodist Grandview. Their daughter, Mindy, has taken to being a Zebra like a fish takes to water. They love this town and its people, and making the move to Grandview has been a greater blessing than they could have imagined.

A proud Liberty University graduate, Steve enjoys serving his church as a Sunday School teacher, spending time with Mindy and Sharon for Friday night family nights, and holding out hope for a return of the Cowboys' former glory. Steve is honored by the opportunity to serve the Chamber and looks forward to all that God has in store for this amazing community.
